P Reg Ford Fiesta SI
Hi,
I've recently had the clutch replaced on my Fiesta and ever since, although it runs great, when standing still with the engine running the revs will momentarily drop and then immediately return to idle normally without me having to touch the throttle. This happens every minute or so and although the engine does not stall is quite annoying. I think there may be a sensor fault or wire disconnected somewhere but where do I start?
Any help would be most appreciated.
Cheers
David
Hi David,
This does sound as if a sensor has been disconnected or more likely just needs resetting.
Sadly the only way to do this is to get the car connected to a fault code reader or FCR....
This will run through a series of checks, diagnose the fault and then re-set the sensor concerned (hopefully it won't need a new sensor)...
Most good garages now have FCR's - In fact I'm surprised the one that fitted the new clutch hasn't?
I am presuming that you've discussed this with them?...If you haven't, I would suggest that you do so as soon as possible...they should help you with this if this problem has only occurred since the new clutch was fitted.
I hope this has given you some food for thought...Good luck and please, let me know how you get on.
Regards
Bill
