Noisy Honda
Hi,
I have a Honda Accord Aerodeck 2.2 1994, the problem is there is a noise under the bonnet which sounds like a noisy exhaust or something rubbing on the tyre. The wheel bearings are ok and the clutch and gearbox all work fine. The noise is there all the time at all speeds, and with the engine off and free wheeling. Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks
Bruce
Hi Bruce,
It sounds like it may be a faulty Drive Joint (it's also called a Constant Velocity Joint) - there is one on both ends of the Drive Shaft and you have two Drive Shafts on your car. (so it could be either one of four).
Your favourite garage should be able to identify which it is.
I hope this helps.

Bill
Hi Bill,
Thanks for your prompt reply, it was the CV Joint. Great diagnosis, well done.
Thanks

Hi Bruce,
It's pleasing to know I was correct but sad for you, mind you, once done it should last a fair few 1000's of miles.
Thanks for taking the time to let me know.
Good luck
Bill
